Hotel Castle Park, Berat is proud to have been certified by the internationally acclaimed and respected ECOPROFIT program in 2013. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our staff, we are the only hotel in Berat to be certified by this international organization.
This program was started in 1991 in Graz, Austria to create more environmentally friendly and sustainable businesses through a process involving workshops, consultations, and audits. At the end of this process, a business receives an award from ECOPROFIT in the city it operates in. It is a cooperative approach between ECOPROFIT, a participating business, and the city or regional authority. For a business rooted in tourism and hospitality such as Hotel Castle Park in Berat, this is a major achievement in an era of climate and ecological crisis that demands businesses to become sustainable at the soonest.
With the help of the ECOPROFIT program, Castle Park has achieved key program objectives including emission avoidance, efficient use of resources, energy, and waste management. Greater overall efficiency also means lower operating costs, savings that can be re-directed toward further improving our services, hospitality, and amenities at Castle Park. We could have achieved none of this without the hardworking efforts of Hotel Castle Park’s staff under the leadership of its owners Alma and Zamo.
